Getting married at the end of the month and my Fiance has 2 daughters – 6 and 21. After our vows I would like the priest to do a family blessing – so we can acknowledge the girls during the wedding. We are not doing a unity candle or sand thing or anything else. Anyone have a blessing or prayer of some kind that would be apporpriate?

Oh that sounds like a really sweet idea. 🙂
Hmm, I don’t know of any specific blessings, but I wonder if you could ask your priest if he could come up with something appropriate? I would think he would know just the right thing to say for that sort of situation.

I cannot remember the specific blessing, but our minister (a woman) at our wedding on the beach included my son in our vows to each other. A family vow too, if you will, and it was beyond sweet. We all three had tears of joy in our eyes.
By the way, what you’re doing, including his daughters, is a lovely gesture. I can tell you, my son said he felt he had a new family just made, after that ceremony. It means alot to them. It really does, to the children.
