Thanks so much for all your positive experiences. I’m feeling a lot better today than I have been. We chose not to have a gender reveal party because the baby’s gender, whether born a boy or girl is irrelevant to us. I suppose that in this new internet culture where people celebrate the reveal of their baby’s gender with pink and blue cakes or confetti maybe people feel more welcome to share their preferences and even disappointments. I think it is rude and I will be sure to point that out should anyone else choose to share their disappointments. Hubby and I have chosen to keep the baby’s name a secret because we don’t want opinions. I think with baby #2 we’ll do the same with the gender.
