I posted before about how my sister has been anything but supportive about my wedding. Well, she finally dropped out of my wedding with 3 weeks left till dress ordering. However, she still wants my niece to have the chance to be the flower girl. With that said, she wants to pick out a dress at Easter time, and wants to know exactly what color dress she should get. Sigh.
My wedding colors are burnt orange and sage with a woodsy feel. I don’t exactly see her keeping white very clean for more than 10 minutes.
Any suggestions on colors?

@DoctorBride: I’m sorry your sister is not being supportive. It sucks. But as for the flowergirl dress, why not a sage green dress with white ribbon? After Easter, all those dresses will be on sale. I’m sure there will be tons of dresses in various shades of green and white.

Firstly: don’t feel pressured into this! It doesn’t sound like you’re that thrilled 🙁
I would suggest putting her in whatever the adult BMs are wearing; although if you’re like me and want the colours to match perfectly, and seeing as though it doesnt sound like you’ll be there for the purchase, maybe go for a pale brown and then accessorize with the wedding colours. (sash, headband, etc)

It sounds like with burnt orange and green as your colors, white wouldn’t be the best choice anyhow.
Go shopping with your sister and you will find something that will be perfect. They have so many cute little Easter dresses for little girls. You can even look around now then wait for the ones you like to go on sale.

There are such a wide variety of colors on Easter dresses, and lately it seems they are not typically white or pastel. I’m sure you’ll find something!

Check out Amazon. I searched on there a lot and found several flower-girl/pagent girl/easter dresses for reasonable prices.
I ended up buying my flowergirl dresses at Burlington Coat Factory ( I would’ve NEVER even looked there…. but someone suggested it to me) They had a TON of super cute dresses in several colors I paid 30 dollars for my dresses ( I have three flowergirls… lord help me)…. Not on sale (and I’ve been told they never put their little girl dresses on sale)…. but for 30 bucks- I couldn’t pass that up!

We got ours off of ebay for $23! And it was adorable. So maybe suggest to your sister that you’ll look ONLINE through the after-Easter sales to see what you can come across. It doesn’t sound like you’ll be with her for the purchase or that you want to be (don’t blame ya) but online can help you be in charge of the choice and find a great deal. Maybe it doesn’t end up being an actual after-Easter dress, but if you find an every day good deal who can beat that?

My wedding is July 25th. My flower girl already bought her dress and mom isn’t letting her wear it until the wedding.
