Wow – it’s really interesting seeing all this.  Many of these definitely feel like names of a different era.  I always wonder if today’s trendy names like Madison and Aiden which sound really modern now will end up being old lady and old man names.

I have 6 grandparents, since my father’s parent remarried.

Manya (went by Fifi) and Amram (stepgrandfather)
Roger and Jodi (short for Joanne, stepgrandmother)
Irving and Hedy (I believe she changed it to Hedy from Freida or something like that when she immigrated to the US after WWII)

My fiance’s grandparents (don’t know his paternal grandfather)

David & Beverly
Louise

If we wanted children, we probably would name them after grandparents.  Probably Manya for a girl and David for a boy.

@Entangled: We’re planning on somewhat similar. Should be have a daughter she will likely be Eleanor Ingrid (though FH’s not fond of that because he thinks its too much for one name but it’s my greatgrandmother’s name).

Mine: Frances & Edward (known as Ted)

Gertrude (Trudy) & James (Jim)

His: Harry & ________ & he doesn’t remember his mom’s parents names (the only way he remembers is that his dad is a Jr & they were pretty much all passed away by the time he was born). Still. That blows my mind.
