- Wedding: April 2012
So my FI’s brother in law (his sisters husband) does photography, I haven’t seen much of his work but I have heard that he is good (from my Fiance who isn’t a big photography buff). He apparently took pictures for my Fiance at his first wedding and said they came out good. Like I said I haven’t seen his work (he only does photography for fun these days).
Photography is my number one priority for the wedding (besides the fact that I’m actually getting married) and I don’t think I can compromise on it. I have actually found a photographer that I love and was prepared to spend some decent $$ if I found a fantastic one. I’m a photography buff and am really picky about photography style. I can look at 50+ photographers and find ONE that I love.
When I mentioned this to my Fiance he said that his Brother-In-Law would do it for free… And a bicker battle ensued. FI’s arguement is that Brother-In-Law will want to do the pictures and will do it for free. My arguement is that I want Brother-In-Law to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding and I want to LOVE my wedding pictures and if I don’t love them I don’t want to hold it against Brother-In-Law. But I also really don’t want to start a family feud over this.
So ladies I would love some suggestions… Should I stick to my guns? How should I let Brother-In-Law down? Did anyone take a chance on family taking pictures and it turned out well?? Share your thoughts!
