- Wedding: October 2010
So, we’re down to a week and there’s still sooo much to do! We got another photographer (after the original quit last minute) which is good. We also have the funds to cover just about everything else…
However, we are either going to have to forgo attendant gifts (albeit we’re paying for hair and makeup for the 2 MOH’s, one of their dresses, and two of the groomsman tuxes but the other attendants haven’t received anything) or we are going to have to cancel the rehearsal dinner (set at family member’s house… bbq).
Everything for the wedding has been covered by us or my father with no help whatsoever from my fiance’s father. I know parents don’t have to help with weddings. I think my issue is that we’ve been struggling financially because my fiance was in a car accident a year ago and cannot work because of the settlement (which ironically enough we should have an answer on at the beginning of next month). His father knows all this and knows we are struggling but has offered no help whether via money or advice. I’m frustrated.
So, basically what I wonder is, do I forgo the gifts (or give them late) or skip the rehearsal dinner? Even skipping the dinner won’t provide fabulous gifts, but I could at least do something.
I’m at a loss… sorry bout the length
