I voted family style, but I may be biased, that’s what we’re doing.

Family style because everyone gets served at approximately the same time.

Definitely family style. Buffet lines just aren’t fun, and dozens of people walking around with plates of food can get messy.

I am doing Buffet, because of costs. The bridal party and parents and specail guests will be served family style. Depending on how many guests you’re having, and the amount of staff needed for both, I have been to buffets that have taken less time than family style.

Tanleggedjuliet:  It really depends on how many guests you have I reckon. If under 100 I would say buffet, but if you have a bigger guest list I would say family style.

It depends, as long as you have 1 full line per 25-30 guests, a buffet is wonderful and would be my first choice.  If you don’t have this option, then I would go with family style.

I hate carrying my food at a wedding.  So I always prefer something served at the table, be it family style or plated.

I was at my first family style wedding a few weeks ago and I loved it! No waiting in line and everyone gets served at the same time. Also, if you want second helpings you can just ask someone to pass the plate you want. Just make sure your tables are big enough for those extra dishes.
