I’m confused why you still can’t have your elopement if you weren’t going to the wedding anyway…the way you worded it doesn’t make it seem like the couple getting married isn’t related to you at all (I could be misreading).

Your future sister in laws, sister in law is getting married and you’re not sure that you’ll even be invited but you can’t get married on the date that you want?

im sorry, this doesn’t make sense. Just elope on the date you have in mind if you’re not even close enough to this couple to get an invite then why would it matter??

I’m confused as to why that changes your wedding date?  How does it affect your plans?

I don’t understand why you couldn’t have sent save the dates of you wanted to save the 9th that much. Or get engaged withour a ring, set the date before, etc. Oh well.

I don’t understand why you are worried about it if you are eloping. If you are not inviting anyone, (which is what an elopement is), then you’re fine to get married whenever you want.

You additional info still didn’t help.  I’m still confused what the issue is.

Are you inviting people to your wedding?

Just because your boyfriends sister is in a wedding doesn’t mean you guys can’t elope? It’s not like his sister is getting married. If you guys have really had this date planned then he shouldn’t worry about stealing your sisters thunder as maid of honor because that’s not a thing

shockedbee :  you’re eloping. You can literally get married the SAME day as them and no one would know or miss it. You’re not inviting any family or friends. This makes no sense.

How would you be stealing their thunder if you elope? Just don’t tell them until after the fact. They get a day..no more, no less. If you’re still set on changing your date (which is silly) then just think: now you will have two anniversaries to celebrate if you want!
