Everyone thought I was pregnant with a girl. Even more so after they knew how sick I was. I had a boy.

No, other family members were not accurate about their predictions about the sex of the baby or multiples. However, very, very early in my first pregnancy (I had taken a negative pregnancy test) a coworker asked if I had tried the treats she brought in. I said I had not, as lunch wasn’t sitting too well with me. She looked at me really hard (she was a teeny-tiny, skinny woman who was probably in her mid-60’s but looked much older from smoking like a chimney for decades) and finally proclaimed, “You’re pregnant!” Then she turned around and went back to her desk. So weird.

Later that same week, I went to the hairdresser and complained that while my hair was always oily, it was worse than normal reacently and I asked for a shampoo recommendation. She asked if I was pregnant and went on and on about how pregnancy can change a person’s hair, etc. I had given her NO reason to think I was pregnant, so it was really random.

Another week or two later? Yes, I was pregnant and had had no idea earlier.

serenitea:  My mom asked me if I had any news for her, and I said no. She was very disappointed and said that she for sure thought I was pregnant (she didn’t know we were trying or even thinking about kids). Well, I knew I MIGHT be pregnant and took a test a few days later, when my period was one or two days later and it was positive. I called her and said, “You were right, Mom!” At first she didn’t know what I was talking about and then she was so, so excited. Then she was absolutely convinced we were having a girl even though I told her I thought it was a boy (we didn’t find out the sex until the birth). I had a BOY and she though my husband was joking when he said, “come meet your grandson!” She was that sure, haha. So she was right but then wrong.

even I thought it was a boy for sure and thought there was a good chance for multiples. Nope.

serenitea:  My best friend was told she was about to have a baby girl this time last year. Her baby is due in January but it’s a boy! I was told I will have a daughter soon after my best friend and then a son after that. I have dreamed about my daughter for years but never had a feeling or premonition for a son until a few months ago. Last week I was laughing so hard in my sleep at my son singing me a song. Weird.

I had a dream I was going to have a boy before we even found out the gender of the baby. We did in fact have a boy. It’s funny how dreams can be accurate at times.

A lot of people, including my mom and myself, thought I was going to have a girl. Our baby is definitely a boy!

Also, my best friend has dreamed that I gave birth to 1) a litter of golden retriever puppies, and 2) a bagel. I mean, I suppose it could still happen but the ultrasound is pretty clear that it’s just one human baby in there.

KatieBklyn:  haha a bagel… Dreams can be so weird.

I can’t say i’ve ever had real dreams come true, but with both of my sister-in-laws pregnancies I’ve made comments like ‘I wonder when ___ is going to have another baby’ and ‘____ should have a baby so I can buy more baby clothes’ a couple weeks before they’ve announced it. My Fiance says Im not allowed to make any comments about myself now!

My parents both had psychics tell them stuff about future kids before they even met.  One told my dad that he would never have a son.  Another told my mom that she would have 2 children of the same gender.  They ended up with 2 daughters.

I’m not even pregnant yet, but I frequently have dreams where Darling Husband and I have a baby girl.  I’ve never had any dreams where I have a baby boy.

i dreamed that i was pregnant and that i went to my baby shower in the dress that i wore to the last marine corp ball i went to. a couple weeks later i found out i was pregnant and was due in november- the month of the marine corps ball. unfortunately, we lost the baby. i’ve had several dreams of being pregnant or having kids, but that’s the only one that’s “come true.”

I am pregnant now, and we havent found out the gender yet.  But EVERYONE thinks its a girl (my mom, my Mother-In-Law, my brother, my cousins, my friends, my DHs grandparents, and anyone else who knows).  Except my husband and my SIL.  Majority of the time I think its a boy – but when I think about it too much I don’t know.    I’ll update when we find out!!!

As soon as we found out we were expecting and started telling people, EVERYONE has said its a boy (without us asking their prediction).

It’s so strange – literally everyone we’ve told has just almost immediately blurted out that they think it’s a boy. I guess we will see!!
