@jenbrandner the only problem I see with battery-op fans is that you have to provide the batteries. But otherwise, for about the same price, that’s a FANTASTIC idea, too!

Since everything is outside,I’d provide something. Even with cool drinks,I wouldn’t last very long with little cool air circulating. I hope you have shade!

I’d get colored paper fans or paddle fans.

Michael’s is selling the same sandalwood fans posted above for even cheaper in a bulk box. I got a 50% off coupon for buying 2 fifty-cent packages of bubbles and now I plan on going back and buying them!

Great question! I am having a late afternoon August wedding, and the barn reception has NO AC. I’ve been stressing about this. I think fans will be a great way to go.  In terms of painting/stamping or otherwise decorating, what are some ideas for doing that?

I’d just leave them plain and attach a tiny ribbon with a tag at the bottom if you wanted to do something to jazz them up. I tried a lot of things for my daughter’s fans last year, and weaving ribbon was messy, stamping on the folds made them lay flat…I bought black ones and fuschia ones and had them placed on each seat for the ceremony for her June wedding.
