I’ve just started a new job in admin and I am very excited about it. I haven’t worked in a while so I am a bit lost in terms of what footwear to wear especially during the colder months. I’m aiming for a smart/stylish look but not too severe. Also I can’t walk in heels at all so they must be totally flat! At the moment I’m wearing fitted black trousers with patent leather ballet pumps and a smart top. Do any of you wear smart boots? I live in the UK so I have to be careful with the rain/cold/windy weather lol
I would love to hear your suggestions! Thank you! x x x

I work in banking and can’t wear heels all day as my particular job has me on my feet running around a lot. In the summer it’s mostly fitted ankle pants and ballet flats every day. In the winter I wear a lot of skirts and dresses with tights and dressier boots (not necessarily heeled, but never combat boots and polished not distressed materials). I also have a few pairs of ankle booties which I think are great for professional settings. I have a flat pair and a couple of pairs with a very small block heel that is not difficult to stand/walk in at all.

Same here! (the dresses/skirts with tights and boots, not the banking job- I’m a teacher)
I tend to wear dresses and skirts in the summer, too, just because I don’t really like pants. I just swap the boots for ballet flats. I prefer pointy toe flats because I think they look a bit more stylish than round toe. Pencil skirts are always a nice professional look, as are dresses or skirts with a blazer.
