Hi Bees,
I had my second and final fitting yesterday afternoon – I am totally over any dress regret that I may have had around 9 months ago! My dress (Mori Lee 2713) has been hemmed and it’s now the perfect length – no more having to kick my dress out when I walk! Yay!
My dress pulls across the hips a tiny bit (a very common issue with mermaid / fishtail / fit n flare dresses) but my seamstress was reluctant to let the dress out and told me that as long the lining is pulled down properly, the crease will disappear, and in any case, the dress will relax and loosen up the longer I wear it. So I’m not too worried about that!
I am worried about accidentally flashing my boobs though! I have unintentionally lost a little bit of weight (stress!) and as a result, the top of the dress feels a little roomy. The dress already has some padding in the bust area so I don’t want extra cups sewn in, and I don’t think I really need them to be honest. I just want to feel a little more secure!
A normal bra is out of the question as my dress has a low lace back. So that leaves me with three options… Fashion tape to stick the dress to my body to prevent it from gaping… A stick bra to boost my bust (although I am petrified of accidentally ripping off a nipple – I’ve been told some are ridiculously sticky!)… Or other?
I get married on the 16th (less than 10 days time eeeek!) so give me your recommendations ASAP please! I’m a UK bee so do bear that in mind! Thank you!

If you plan on dancing a lot you might not have as much luck with a stick on bra, the sweat can make it not stick as well

Yeah, no to the stick on bra. I wore one to a wedding last year and it was a disaster. I would recommend a low back bra depending on how low the lace of your dress is (you’d be surprised at how low some of the bras go) or some pasties (better than fashion tape, I think). They don’t hurt when you pull them off. Otherwise, ten days seems like enough time to have it taken in a bit more in the chest to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions. I’d probably go with that route.

DGN85 : I’ve worn this sticky silicone bra thing before that works really well! I agree that regular stick on bras are terrible, but the silicone style is awesome! I bought the “FreeBra” from Amazon. It also gave me more lift than a normal backless, strapless bra. I think it was about $10 or $15 and it’s resuable.

Wear some pasties if you’re really nervous, otherwise don’t bother. Nippies makes some nice nude silicone ones.

I’d just do tape, unless you really want to give your boobies a boost.
There are lots of stick on bras that work really well though. I wear one fairly often and have never ripped off a nipple haha. But with 9 days to go, it might be a challenge to find the right one that is stickey enough and works with your dress.

I just had this problem and posted another thread! I took the advice of others, and got athletic tape. I bought it at CVS. I would get the “sweat proof water proof” kind. I put it on at about 3 PM, and it was still on by 1 AM, after a muggy night of dancing. I did put gauze over my nipples. Taking it off was a little uncomfortable wherever there was a little hair, but otherwise it was fine. I just did it in the shower, and used a little olive oil. I honestly felt super held it, and I had only taped one half of each breast, because the dress had no back and a very low neck.

100% get this particular sticky bra. It gives you great cleavage and will help you fill out the dress so it wont fall down. I swear by this sticky bra and I’ve had it on for hot sweaty dancing and it has never fallen off. (also doesnt rip off nipples 🙂 ) only $15!!

I have a sticky bra that I love, I got it at Kohl’s… I think it’s Maidenform… but I would never trust it for super long periods of time or if I would be getting sweaty. Also, it is definitely not sticky enough to pull a nipple off haha

Sticky tape and a stick on bra will start sliding when you sweat. I like musket87 idea.

Thanks for all of your suggestions so far Bees! Has anyone tried anything like this?

I think I’d pair it with some extra tape for added security, but it looks like it’ll give me the boost I need without any straps?

DGN85 :Â i have tried to very expensive VS version of that, and it does NOT work. There is no support from the tiny sticky bandaids on the side and it will fall off in no time. Â try the sticky bra I posted earlier, Â Best $15 you will ever spend. Â
