I’m so sorry about your experience, bee!  I’m sure you looked beautiful in your dress, and those girls are nasty, ugly, and terrible for being so mean to you!  I went to DB too to get a dress, but my consultant was really obnoxious to me.  She made several comments about me being too skinny and some dresses didn’t look right on me.  I think DB is maybe just not a good place to go dress shopping.  I think all of the to-be-brides at DB looked gorgeous, and I told them so.  I don’t know why anyone thinks they have a right to be nasty to anyone.  Screw those girls, your Fiance thinks you’re beautiful on the inside and outside!

sorry you had this experience. Did the sales associate say anything to these women? Could other people hear them? I just can’t imagine that happening without someone saying something. If I saw that happening I would definitely say something to them.

schoening22:  I’m so sorry that happened to you. Don’t worry about it. Just keep doing you. There’s always gonna be assholes out there and the best thing to do is just ignore them.

Bitches!!!

Dont let them get you down! Keep focusing on you, your health and I would use that as fuel. Not because I want to fit in or I dont want people talking about me but because i can do it!

Im a curvy gal who is trying to lose weight for her wedding so had that happened to me, after I’d go ghetto on their asses, I’d let it pump me up instead of bring me down.

Hugs!!

OP I am so very sorry your experience wasn’t everything you hoped. Please don’t let the actions of some very misguided people ruin the joy of finding your wedding dress! Beauty and weight are two completely separate things, and your fiancé obviously loves you for exactly who you are at this very minute. If anyone has a problem with the way you look or your wedding dress, it is their problem, not yours. Sending virutal hugs!

schoening22:  what the F!!!!!!! Were they 12 years old? Stupid brats! DO NOT listen to them! WHO ARE THEY to pass comments? I wish I was there with you and could have put them in their place. Horrible human beings!

schoening22:  Holy crap. I would have been angry and I would have said something. Your consultant should have told them to leave! So sorry you had to deal with that. Such a shame, but shows alot about their maturity level. From one plus size bride to another, do your thing and where what you want to wear! I’m sure you looked awesome!

This disgusts me. I cannot believe that the staff did not intervene in this. I would rather lose business than let a bunch of snot nosed brats hurt someone like this.

Welp, guess DB will never get a cent from me. I didn’t even know they didn’t have mirrors in their room. WTF?

Sorry OP I really can’t imagine going thru that. Fuck those bitches.

Your consultant definitely should have stepped in and said something on your behalf.

I feel so heartbroken reading this.  I can’t fathom why any woman (or man) in the right state of mind would do that, or think like that about another human being. They sound vile, and although it’s hare not to care, keep in mind that it says far more about themselves as people than it does about you. From the sounds of how shameless and judgemental they are, they would have done that to anyone, not just you. Pick the dress that makes you feel beautiful, whatever style of the dress, and whatever the shape of your body!

Just remember that there’s a man who considers you to be the most beautiful woman on the planet, to the point where he has chosen you above all others (and there’d be reasons for that…beauty comes in many forms)

They were so lucky that I wasn’t there! I’d let them know exactly how I felt about them….

Screw them all. While they ‘may’ fit into whatever society calls ‘pretty’, they were probably the most insecure in the room. And probably complete garbage on the inside. Thye are probably pretty miserable people anyways.

Let us see pictures! I’m a plus size bride too, and love seeing all the different shapes and styles that fellow plus sized brides pick!
