I was thinking of doing a breakfast for supper tomorrow night, which is what we normally do on fat tuesday. I have also made Latkes (potato pancakes) in the past.

Mmm  I love Packzi’s.  I’m not usually a sweets person, but Fat Tuesday I pig out on Packzi’s.

They’re oversized donuts filled with different kinds of things.  My favorite are the raspberry ones covered in powdered sugar.  Mmm  I’m SOOOO excited!  Haha

“Packzi day is a traditional Polish celebration before the start of the Lenten season.

In Poland, paczki is a Polish deep-fried doughnut flattened into a spehe with confiture or other sweet filling. It is usually covered with powedered sugar, bits of orange zest or icings. In America, the Packzi day is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday. This marked the day as Fat Tuesday. Chicago has a large population of Polish-American and it became popular in other US places like in Hmamtramck, Michigan in Detroit where an annual Packze Day Parade held.”  Source:  http://www.buzzybloggers.com/packzi-day-it-is-fat-tuesday/

Seriously, those things pack in upwards of 400 calories each.  Fat Tuesday indeed!  😉
