- Wedding: July 2015
I’m getting married on June 20, 2015. It is the day before Father’s Day. The Father Daughter dance is something I have always dreamed about (I’m a Dad’s girl) so I definitely want to share that special moment with him on my wedding day. I have been thinking it may be nice to incorporate other Dad’s and their daughters in on this dance as well…with the spirit of Father’s Day and all. The song we’re going to dance to is “Beautiful In My Eyes” by Joshua Kadison. It’s a little over 4 minutes long, so my thought is to dance with my Dad alone for 2 minutes (maybe a little over) and then have the DJ invite other Dad’s and their daughters up to finish out the last 2 minutes.
My concern is that my cousin, who is also a bridesmaid, does not have a good relationship with her father. He has been in and out of her life since she was little. I don’t want her to feel left out or weird. She will have her daughter and husband there so they will get to share a dance so I’m hoping she would appreciate the gesture from that angle.
What are your thoughts on this idea in general, and your thoughts about my concern…am I over thinking it?
