- Wedding: October 2010
So my dad doesn’t want to do the father-daughter dance, which is fine with me pretty much, although I hope to find some sort of alternative thing to do.
My dad does not dance, and admits that he has no rhythm. Also, my folks had no dancing at their wedding-their reception was at their church (Southern Baptist) and was a cake-punch type reception.
I was thinking of maybe doing some sort of father-daughter duet? I’m a professional musician and my dad is talented, although he didn’t study music. He and I were in church choir together for a few years, and my mom actually first noticed him when he was singing in a church choir.
We’re not having a big formal reception. We’re going for more of a family reunion/BBQ sort of vibe. So I think it would be okay. I’ve also thought maybe of including my mom and brother in this as well.
Does anyone think this is too cheesy or silly? Like I said, it’s a low-key reception, only family and close friends. Fiance still plans on doing a dance with his mom, so I want to do something father-daughter. Any song suggestions?
