I think you should pick a song you love, so it seems perfectly appropriate to me.  My Future Mother-In-Law picked "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" when her oldest son got married (it’s actually a waltz, so it wasn’t as weird as it sounds.)

As for asking other to join in, I think it would be lovely!  We’re planning on inviting everyone to join us on the floor part way into our first dance.  You can have your DJ or band make an announcement inviting everyone to join you, and make sure your new husband and the attendants help lead the way.

I think it’s a great song. I love Joe Cocker. Feelin’ Alright is one of my favorite songs of all time. I also think you can make it a group dance if you want. It would be very nice!

Also, your DJ can edit the song to make it shorter, so that is an option.
