Do you like old school music? Really old school? I always think it’s nice for weddings. I think What a Wonderful World is a good choice for a father daughter dance.

I always wanted butterfly kisses, but my dad said the same thing it was overplayed. He chose “Dance Baby Dance” by Chris Cagle and it had my whole family in tears.

I chose Ray Charles, If I could. It’s a pretty song with meaningful lyrics!

Our first dance will be to This Magic Moment – it is a faster song, so we’re practicing ahead of time. I think as long as you’re comfortable dancing to a faster song, you should go for it! Don’t let the speed scare you away from having something meaningful.
For my father/daughter dance, my dad picked Frank Sinatra’s Just the Way you Look Tonight – it is meaningful for us and he put a lot of thought into his choice. For my fiance’s dance with his mom, she picked “I Hope You Dance.”

I am obsesed with this song right now… don’t know if it fits for you:
And my father and I danced to Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, but he’s Jamaican and it’s one of the first songs I ever knew the words to, so it fit…

- Wedding: February 2014 - Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts
We used Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t she lovely. A little fast paced but not too much. My biological dad doesn’t really dance so we basically slowed danced to the first half of it. Then when it was my stepdads (who raised me) turn he kinda picked up the pace and broke out in some old school old man dancing. It was super cute and everyone loved it but it was a surprise to me and I just had to match his dancing the best I could cause we hadn’t practiced. But everyone thought we had!
