So I literally have 23 days until my wedding and am struggling with a father daughter dance song.
I dont want it to be your typical song, my parents have been divorced since I was 4 and me and my dad have always had a great bond through music, he’s very into southern rock, I grew up on lynyrd skynyrd, Stevie ray Vaughn, johnny cash and so on. Its been a rough ride with him as ive always had to somewhat watch him.
@Honey-Bee: It could be a bit sad I suppose — his voice was always a little mournful on slow songs. But I think it’s so sweet and heartfelt. Then again, there is always the original Beatles version if the tone is a concern!
@giru618: I love When You Need Me! I’m planning on doing a special dance with my uncle cause we’ve always had a really close relationship and I’m using that song! Its so perfect, I can’t believe I’d never heard it until I started looking for songs for that dance!
My dad and I will be dancing to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw.
Our dad’s have similar music tastes it seems, OP. What about simple man? Idk if it would work but I always liked it. I just looked some songs up. What about American girl by Tom petty (like PP said), or guns n roses -sweet child of mine? (Sheryl crow does a nice version too).
I think Beatles in my life is a great one! I used to want the song there goes my life by Kenny Chesney. Another idea is daughters by John Mayer.
