So what are some good father daughter dance songs?
I think fi and I finally selected our first dance song- the Jurassic Park theme segueing into everything is awesome in order to get people on the dance floor.
We’re doing the parent dances first though.
Fi wants to do a song called Mama Said(which I had never heard, but that is a really sweet song)
So now that we are getting closer to our wedding and finalizing song selections, I’m second guessing my first idea which is What a wonderful world from Louis Armstrong.
Now I’m thinking I might actually let dad have a say lol. I’m pretty close to my dad, we work in the same agency and we game together online regularly. Yeah, he raised us on musicals and oldies, so that’s definitely the sort of song i’d like to dance to with dad. I’d like to narrow down some choices and let him pick.
Here’s the current options:
You are my sunshine, dad always sang this to us growing up, although I can see some of the lyrics can be a bit romantic/depressing as an adult. Our other day songs finding growing up were I’ve been working on the railroad and anything and from phantom of the opera, so even less wedding-y songs lol.
If we hold on together, yes this is from the land before time, I loved that movie as a kid
Swinging on a star, what can I say, dad introduced us to a love of science and learning too
When you wish upon a star, I love this song
Sunrise, sunset, I love this song, but it’s long and this wasn’t one of the musicals we sang constantly as a kid and I never saw it until 6 months ago.
I’d say Climb every Mountain from the sound of music would be more meaningful since we did watch that one and listen to it more often growing up.
Any other good options for a father daughter dance song from musicals/oldies?
