I’m using What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.  It’s short and sweet and not too sappy.

My dad and I are the same way you and your dad seem to be…

we decided to dance to My Girl by the Temptations. It was awesome and we had a lot of fun dancing to it.

My dad’s more rock and roll than the average father, so we’re dancing to “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses.

My Dad had always wanted it to be “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle and what the old man wants, the old man gets haha

If you want something less sappy maybe “Safe and Sound” by Hawksley Workman. I feel like it would work for a father daughter relationship.

My dad and I are dancing to a song from one of my favorite movies – the parent trap- “this will be” by Natalie cole. It’s classic and catchy, not too slow and not that long of a song.check!

We haven’t officially decided on a song yet, but right now I think “I loved her first” by Heartland is at the top of our list.  That or the Wobble since my dad can Wobble better than anyone I’ve ever seen.

Omg my dad is going to bawl lol

When I was an infant (like literally newborn) until maybe I was around 1, my dad used to hold me in the living room and rock me to sleep to a specific Bach song (Air, on a G String) that’s really slow and soft. I don’t remember it of course, but it’s our song, and that’s what we’re dancing to at my wedding.

He’s gonna bawl, but I’ll cry harder, omg. No one else in the room is going to get the reference (except for Mom and siblings and fiance), but I might have the DJ intro the song with the info.

We danced to the Beetles song “I will” covered by Allison Krauss (and had the DJ cut the instrumental beginning down) mostly because I love the song, and it’s short 🙂

My Stepdad choose Tom Petty’s Wildflower to dance to. I bought it was perfect. We did a lot of air guitar dancing too 😂❤️

Following this because I am struggling a bit with this topic! I feel like all the really sweet/sentimental songs are country and my dad is NOT a country guy. Here are some of the songs we’ve talked about (wedding isn’t until April so we have time to decide):

-“Here for You” by Firehouse – totally my dad’s music taste but my mom wasn’t super excited about it

-“Close to You” by The Carpenters – parents used to sing it to me when I was little

-“Wild World” by Cat Stevens – I really like this one and feel it’s super appropriate for a father/daughter relationship

We are doing Forever Young covered by Iron and Wine and Rhiannon Giddens. Probably only part of the song because it’s a little long 🙂
