My fiance and I are getting married in Sept on the beach. Only our immediate family will be attending, so our parents will pretty much be the only people in the crowd. We want a more casual (but nice) wedding. I am wearing a white wedding dress, my fiance is wearing a grey suit (without the jacket) so just the vest, white button up, tie and suit pants. The groomsmen are wearing grey suit pants with a white button up.
What should my father wear!? Should my fiance’s stepdad and my stepdad wear the same as my father? Any advice is welcome!!!
Thanks! 🙂

With such a small guest list I really don’t think the parents need to match at all – just give them some idea as to what level of formality the wedding will be and what the groomsmen will be wearing, I’m sure they can pick out their own appropriate attire based on that.

The traditional rule is the father of the bride should dress to the same formality as the groomsmen, and the father of the groom to the guests. Since it’s immediate family only and fairly casual, if you wanted to stick to this, both fathers would dress to the same formality (but not necessarily matching) the groomsmen, so dress pants and button up. However, since it is casual, I would let them stay to what they feel comfortable in.
