Hello Ladies!
Long story short, my FI’s father had told us he wasn’t coming to our wedding but out of nowhere last week he decided to come. He called me asked me if he could walk me down the aisle since my dad passed away last year. It was extremely sweet and thoughtful but I had to say no because my mom is walking me down the aisle. I did, however, want to have a special dance with him but not as a substitution for the father/daughter dance, just a nice/fun song to dance to as a welcoming into their family. I’ve spoken to both my Fiance and mother and they’re both completely up for it…now the tricky part is finding a song.
What are your thoughts? Any song suggestions?

I think maybe a sweet song like “my wish for you” by Rascall Flatts or something along that line would be sweet. Or find an oldies kinda song to swing dance to for fun to get everyone up and moving. That is so sweet to include him like that 😉 Good luck.

I actually picked my dad’s favourite song – Elvis American Trilogy. My dad and I aren’t into the whole cheesy, must mean something, songs so this worked perfectly. Since I was small I’ve always known it was his favourite so it meant more to me to have that than something that would have meant nothing to us.

@Twizzle11: Love this idea.
That is so sweet. A welcome to the family dance. What a great idea. Fiance is doing something kind of simalar. I am having a mother/daughter dance and he is going to cut in and dance with my mom 🙂
