I am trying to figure out what song to do as a father/daughter dance. This is kind of a long explanation, so I apologize. My dad isn’t really a dance kind of guy and he’s pretty hesitant to even want to do a dance. He doesn’t like sappy stuff, so songs like The Way You Look Tonight and Butterfly Kisses are a big no for him. He’s more of a rock kind of guy. He looks like Jerry Garcia, but with less hair on top, lol, if that gives you bees an idea of what he is like. When I was little, we used to do a lot stuff together and our favorite song was Damn Yankees High Enough. I wanted to do that, just because it was special for us, but it isn’t really appropriate at all. But, I have really good memories of us driving to the store and singing along to it together, he sang Jack Blades’ part and I always sang Tommy Shaw’s part. My Fiance said to just do that song, but have the DJ say something to the effect of it just being a song from my childhood with him. We are trying to think of something a little more appropriate, but still something that he would like, so it wouldn’t be torture for him. He likes classic rock and his suggestion was Guns N Roses Sweet Child O Mine.. I appreciate any suggestions or comments. I’m just at a loss and want to make him happy, but still make sure we have that special moment. He isn’t even real into giving me away, but knows that he has to do it because it’s important to me. Thanks in advance.
