The song “He Didn’t Have to Be” by Brad Paisley could not fit my situation more. The man I call my dad came into my life when I was 6 and has been more of a dad than I ever could have imagined. My question is…the song is told from the p.o.v. of a boy…could I still use it for my father/daughter dance?

Use it! No one is going to listen to it that critically. And if it fits you than that’s all that matters.
(I’m jealous that you have a song you are leaning towards…I still have NO idea what my dad and I will use)

Absolutely, I think that’s a great song for any step father.

I’d say definitely use it!!! If it’s perfect for your situation, you have to go for it!

Oh I love that song! And Brad Paisley in general… seriously. So hot. I digress. Anyway, yes you should use it! The true meaning of the song is what’s important, noone will notice it is from a male POV. What a great choice!

This is way after the fact, but maybe will help with anyone else struggling with a similar dillema. I went with the Brad Paisley song and it was beyond perfect. It was a huge hit with a crowd that for the most part had never heard the song. Most importantly it meant a lot to my dad and even made him cry.
Thanks for the support ladies!
