Hi bees! Here’s my situation: My dad passed away when I was 14, I’m not super close to any male relatives, I don’t feel comfortable dancing with FI’s dad, my mom’s disabled so I wouldn’t be able to dance with her, and I don’t have any brothers.
As you can see, I’m at a bit of a loss if what to do in place of the father/daughter dance. I don’t want to take the whole bit out, since it’s really important to FI’s mom that they have the mother/son dance, and it would seem “imbalanced” in a way if I didn’t do anything in place of it.
As of right now, I’m inclined to have the DJ play a fun song, and I can invite everyone to come and dance with me, but I’m open to other ideas as well.
My questions to my fellow bees: what did you do (or what have you seen at other weddings) as a father/daughter dance alternative that didn’t involve dancing with a male relative? Thanks in advance 🙂
