My dad and I danced to “Soulshine” by the Allman Brothers. Definitely not a song that is typical for a wedding dad/daughter dance but perfect for us. The AB are my dad’s favorite band. Smile

My Dad and I are just planning on opening up the dance floor to the group with our song. We’re rocking out to Ballroom Blitz by Sweet!

We did “I will be there” by Art of Dying. Not really your typical song but it worked for us.

@wheels4k:  look at chuck wicks, stealing Cinderella.  That’s the one we are using. I love it since it is a song from the grooms point of view. To top it off for us, Fiance is a professional musician and he will be singing while me and my daddy dance! Kleenex anyone? 😉

My Dad likes “I Loved Her First” by Heartland

But IMO it is sappy lol. So my Dad said maybe something that wont make him cry. So I suggested an AC/DC song lol. We still haven’t figured out what song to go with =P

My suggestions are both Texas/Red Dirt Country, but they are both awesome and not used very often!

“Blue Bonnets” by Cross Canadian Ragweed or “Little Girl of Mine” by Dry County

My dad and I danced to “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce.

My dad really wanted that to be him and my moms first dance song but she didn’t want to use thatback when they got married so I decided to for our first dance. He loved it and cried his eyes out. The lyrics are very sweet, too.

We didn’t want anything sappy, so we did the Hawaiian version of “Somewhere over the rainbow”. That worked really well, though I should’ve edited it to be a bit shorter!

My dad and I danced to Butterfly Kisses Bob Carlisle….I have no idea if it’s been played to death or not thou?

Our second choice was Edward McCain walk with me….,OMG loved that one too! I had recently just heard that one so my guess is that’s it not too over done. You might want to check that one out as well!

I like Tori Amos – Winter. It’s not country, but it is beautiful, and slow danceable. If you can listen to it without bawling (and I can’t, so we probably aren’t going to be able to use it.)

I loveeee Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. My dad and I are both Disney nuts so I lvoed the Cinderella reference, and it’s definitely meant to used as a father/daughter dance but it’s not a super common one.
