I was thinking of using "My Girl" but don’t know if that’s too cheesy. Will be consulting my dad and probably letting him pick since I’m his only little girl

Did you tell your dads what song you were going to dance to or did you surprise him? I haven’t told my dad and I was thinking of surprising him on the dance floor with Eric Clapton’s "My Father’s Eyes"…he loves Clapton and the song is very sweet! ๐Ÿ™‚

Awww, D.Marie! I think that’s a very sweet idea! If your dad loves Clapton, I’m sure he’ll be doubly touched. ๐Ÿ™‚

My dad and I have four songs under consideration. 1 – "In My Life" – Beatles, 2- "Close Your Eyes" – James Taylor, 3- "I Loved Her First" – Heartland, and  4 – "Rainbow Connection" – Kermit the Frog.  I think the leading contender is "Rainbow Connection", although my dad is worried because he says it is a waltz.

my dad and I will be dancing to "Isn’t She Lovely"…and then halfway through I am going to surprise him with his favorite song.

He and I always sing (loudly) to "Somebody to Love" by Queen.  I can’t wait to see the look on his face.

We’re doing the father/daughter dance at  the same time as the mother/son dance… my Fiance are both really shy dancers, despite a handful of lessons, so we thought there’d be less pressure if there were two couples on the floor. So we were thinking about "Somewhere over the Rainbow" because 1) it’s from my favorite movie ever 2) it’s short and sweet!

We haven’t picked ours yet, but when my sister got married, she & my dad danced to Ladies Night, which was pretty much awesome.  At my BIL’s wedding, his mom picked Take Me Out to the Ball Game, which is a waltz.  Also pretty perfect…

I will be dancing to I Loved Her First by Heartland or Stealing Cinderella by Chuck Wicks. My mom and I were listening to both because I knew I wanted one of them. I don’t remember which one was on but she just started crying her eyes out which made me cry. So I know it is the perfect song. I am pretty sure it was Heartland though.

My dad and I are also dancing to "Surfer Girl" by the Beach Boys.  I live on the beach in Cali and growing up my dad use to sing that song to me.  They are a lot of good song out there to dance to that will make people cry, such as I Loved Her First by Heartland.  But I picked Surfer Girl because it was special to my dad and I.  If you have a song that is between you and your dad I would pick that.  The dance signifies your dad giving his little girl away and that should be something that is special between the two of you.  Pick a song that reminds you of your relationship with your father.  Good Luck!

we are also doing the mother/son and father/daughter dance together. I am having a hard time deciding but some of the contenders are:

1. How Sweet it is to be loved by you- Marvin Gaye

2. God Only Knows- Beach Boys

3. Two of Us-Beatles

i need to think of more…

Wow. Everyone’s songs are sad…

My dad and I will be dancing to Daydream Believer by The Monkees. I’ve known this since I was five. ๐Ÿ˜€
