I keep hearing songs that fathers dedicate to their daugthers, but i want a song where i can speak to my father through.. i respect him, and hes really an amazing man, I met him late in life, so i dont have that daddy bond with him, rather I want to show him hes important and that i love him and think he’s great. any suggestions?? i know this is tough?

I’m doing a google search…have you thought about “Daughters” by John Mayer?
I know a girl
She puts the color inside of my world
But she’s just like a maze
Where all of the walls all continually change
And I’ve done all I can
To stand on her steps with my heart in my hands
Now I’m starting to see
Maybe it’s got nothing to do with me
Fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers, be good to your daughters too

I chose Embrace of the Father and Bride. My stepfather and I aren’t super close, but I wanted to show him that I cared, but I also didn’t want a super sappy song. Maybe it migh be good for you and your father too.

I’ve found a few unique one’s:
Daughter-London Wainwright III
“That’s my daughter in the water
everything she owns I bought her
Everything she owns.
That’s my daughter in the water,
everything she knows I taught her.
Everything she knows.
Everything I say
she takes to heart.
Everything she takes
she takes apart.”
The part where you let go-The Hem
“Go back to sleep now
And I’ll keep all the bad dreams away
Breathe now, think sweet things
And I’ll think of all the right words to say
Because we made you
With the love in each of our hearts
We were a family, my darlin
Right from the start”

@mariateresapm:Never Alone by Lady Antebellum.
Love that song. It could be directed towards either party. It’s what I’m using….

How about Teach Your Children by Crosby, Stills & Nash or Forever Young by Bob Dylan (or any of the other covers of it)?

“Father and Daughter” by Paul Simon is really sweet without being gross and sappy. That’s what my dad and I picked.
