My birth father passed away when I was 4 years old. Since then I have had two step fathers, the first whom I no longer have contact with and the second who has been in my life for the last 5 years. My current step father is the closet father figure I have had in my life I would say. Him and my mother are walking me down the isle.
So I’m trying to figure out what I should do for the father/daughter dance. I could dance with my step father, but I don’t know what kind of song we could do since he wasen’t in my life yet when I was growing up, etc. Or I had an idea that I could do the dance with my brother as a tribute to remember my birth father, maybe do a song from his favorite band or “Dance with my father” by luther vandross, but doing that might be a tear jerker. Or the other option is my grandfather who has been a part of my life growing up. Or I could just skip the father/daughter dance conpletley.
I’m not sure what I should do. So I’m wondering what everyone else has done without their birth father around or deceased? Whats my best option to go with? And what could be some songs that would fit?
