When I was younger my dad would drive me to school every morning and we always listened to Sunny Came Home by Shawn Colvin. It became “our song” …would it be too weird to dance to that song for the father/daughter dance? While the lyrics have nothing to do with a father letting go of his daughter it has sentimental value between the two of us… or should I stick with the overly used I Loved Her First by Heartland?

@Quicksand: I really think you should go with your song, it has memories for you two and I think it would be really special. If you do decide that it isn’t “wedding” enough for you I think you should find something less typical that describes your relationship with your dad a little better, I searched for weeks before I decided on a song for my father/daughter dance. Just because you don’t go sentimental doesn’t mean you have to go straight to an overly used song 🙂 Good luck with your decision!
