We are lucky (I think…lol) that both of our dads are home-DIY guys who love Lowe’s and Home Depot. So we will most likely get them each either a Lowe’s gift card or some tool thing (that Mr. H will pick out).
Last year we got my dad a 6-string mandolin (he’s wanted one forever….he’s a great musician), and Mr HW built a radiator cover for his dad for their living room.
All 3 of them are all about wood-working and power tools…..sigh….we can’t go wrong if it’s from Lowe’s.
For my uncle, who is not a Lowe’s guy, my cousin usually gets him a super nice bottle of wine or whiskey…..that’s what he enjoys.

I think I am going to make my dad a photobook from Blurb.

@MrsBee – can you talk with your mom & figure out if there’s anything in particular that he would like? I know, gift cards tend to be a bit impersonal, but it’s hard to figure out what they have and what they want….my dad doesn’t like certain brands, my guy is like Oh that’s great for work, and my Future Father-In-Law is like Oh I had one of those and it broke….I think it’s like how we are with make-up. Some of us like MAC, some like Clinique, some like Maybelline…it depends what works for you….LOL.
Okay so I got the Mr. a gift card for his b-day, but he’s only allowed to buy a BBQ grill with it….it’s in my purse…LOL.
He bought this a few months ago, and he’s IN LOVE with it, he’s used it for 4 different projects already around the house….and loaned it to his dad. It’s a Dremel Multimax from Home Depot….from what I gather….it does EVERYTHING….I think it’s like an LBD for guys….

My Dad is so hard to buy gifts for!  He never wants anything, and when he does he just goes and buys it himself.  That doesn’t make it any easier.  For Christmas, I got him a lap desk thing (foam, angled) for his laptop.  (A little background: My dad works ALL. THE. TIME.  He goes to work at 6 and comes home around 6, takes about an hour, maybe an hour and a half break, and then works on his laptop for the rest of the evening.)  He’s been using the lapdesk ever since.  A few weeks ago I was visiting, and he told me that he uses it all the time and it is one of the best gifts he’s ever received.  I think it’s funny; it wasn’t expensive and it’s not a traditional gift, but he loves it.  Our wedding is Father’s Day weekend- not sure what I’ll get him.  Maybe the gift of one less dependent?  Haha.

My dad lives on the lake and fishes all day. He loves flavorful rums but doesn’t have access to a lot of stuff (small town) and is not very adventurous with alcohol. I’ve introduced him to most all the stuff in his cupboard.

I went to a specialty liquor store here in StL and bought him Guava rum and Peach Mango rum. Both perfect for summer sippin’.

My dad’s tough to buy for too, and why get him something he can get himself? My wedding is 1 day before fathers day so I konw he’ll appreciate that I didn’t forget about him.

Future Father-In-Law is out of the picture more or less

My father loves to try different beers, and we have a few local breweries around here, so I was just going to pick up a few different cases for Father’s day, and I had a custom one of these made for him:

I am getting my Future Father-In-Law a World’s Best Dad Mug, filling it with his favorite candy and maybe adding a mylar balloon. My in-laws are frugal people and are difficult to shop for. I solved the problem for Mother’s Day by sending Future Mother-In-Law flowers. Hopefully my Daddy’s Day gift will do; he’s so sweet!
