I don’t think they match.  Your venue’s tablescape seems very classic and traditional, the succulents/lace/pink flags are very hipster.  I think it could work if you chose a different plant and name tag.  The place cards are definitely a lovely option.

@Merlin29:  What I get from the pic  is not the fact that it is tradtional, that can be changed with linens. What I get is, at that particluar event they had people seated very closely together. There was barely room for a menu card between the knife of one person’s place setting and the  fork of the person next to them.

What size are your tables and how many people are you seating at those tables?

If your succulent pot is small it doesn’t take up any more table space than a placecard.

I think it looks very cute. Would depend on the actual size but if they’re fairly small I think you could make it work.

@Merlin29:  2 feet or 24″ is the minimum amount of space that should be allotted per guest. If your venue routinely recommends 18″, that could be why the pic looks so crowded.

Thankfully for your guests, you have chosen more space.
