Hello Bees, I need your assistance. We purchased 36 wine glasses from a designer on Etsy, they are awesome and they came quickly! The only problem is they have the wrong date on them :/ I reached out to the seller and she immediately sent me the corrected order. I am now stuck with 36 glasses with our names and the wrong dates on them taking up precious space in our apartment – what should I do with them? Suggestions would be great.
Thank you in advance.

Can you take a razor and scrape the writing off? Can you just embrace that you have goofy wine glasses and use them as a conversation piece in the future? Break the glass and make art?

Are your names/dates on with glass paint or is it etched in the glass. If paint I would let them soak in acetone/nail polish remover which would take the paint off. Then just give them a really good wash and presto 36 wine glasses to donate or give as gifts or whatever.

ehoffy : search registries for your names and wedding date and see if you have twins and give it to them?

Can you strategically paint them or do a little craft with them? Pinterest has lots of ideas that cover parts of the wine glass.

@desertgypsy it’s etched in, we could just give everyone both glasses 😛
@teacher-bee-in-the-sea LOL, love it!
@anikaof9 unfortunately, it’s etched in.
P.S. I don’t know why I can’t tag you ladies. But thank you.

To add to Jessi2883’s suggestion, why not have a wine glass painting party with all of your girlfriends! Just make sure to get thick enough paint to cover the etching. Otherwise, just throw them in the recycling 😕.

ehoffy : Donate them to a charity thrift shop. Someone will buy them and the thrift shop programs will benefit.

ehoffy : Donate them to a thrift store or the goodwill?

Depending on how the etching was applied, you might be able to turn them into frosted glass. You can get glass etching paste from a craft store and see if when it is applied over the letters it cancels out. If it does, you can coat the glass or make patterns. Unfortunatly, this ill only work if the glasses were originally etched this way, but it’s worth a shot!
Whatever you do, I would NOT give them out as favors + the correct ones. Too tacky.

Option 1. Put them in the recycling.
Option 2. Have a party on the date etched on the gasses and use them at that XD

You could decorate them with glitter like below then give them away or use them for future house parties.
also girls pls check your local recycling guidelines. You can’t always recycle wine and drinking glasses because they have been tempered and heat treated and can contaminate the whole recycling run! Please please check first 🙂
