Cute! I think you should offer a choice b/c not all your guests will drink liquor. Assuming all your guests are of age. Personally I’d like the limoncello (um, yum!) but if you think all your guests would drink it, i’d definitely go with that.

I’d consider buying perhaps a less expensive olive oil though, not the restaurants’ to save on cost. Buy the "Rich" kind at Sam’s Club ($20 for a handle, they also sell the restaurant-sized tins) and throw in some herbs, maybe just a sprig or two of dried rosemary, some dried garlic, you get the drift, and you have "bread dip". This is one of my all-time fave foods and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like olive oil dips.

Love this idea — and the packaging is super cute!  Would you do a similar bottle for the olive oil?  (Because I think having both, and giving your guests a choice, would be awesome!)

Well, I’d say if all your guests drink, just save yourself the hassle and make the limoncello for everyone. What about making half in lime flavored so you still have a "choice" without any extra work? I hear key limes make incredible liquor infusions…mmmm. tasty.

I still like the idea of doing both, but I can imagine it costs more and it’s just a major hassle. If you DO decide to go with the olive oil, definitely add herbs of some sort or infuse it so it’s more than just olive oil. Othewrise you guests may not be so thrilled about buying a supermarket olive oil in a fancy bottle.

I like the idea of a little of both and letting guests choose!

I don’t think you *have* to do the wax cork. I do think it’s a nice touch, though. You’d really have to melt it down to the proper consistency and then probably tip your limoncello into it, provided the cork is on SUPER tight. Those candle melter things are pretty good but it might get too thin.

I love it because it is such an intimate detail about both of you. Having the choice is also nice for guests.

I have zero clue. I would assume a regular candle wax would be ok. It all melts the same in the long run, even if you have to dip, let it cool, then dip again if it’s too thin. Not sure how you’d reach and MAINTAIN the ideal thick consistency you want.

Are you really set on the wax seals? You could use tulle, too. I like the nice touch if you can figure out the practicalities of it

I actually disagree with having a choice of favors.  It would be a sweet gesture, but I think you’d have to make extras of each item to ensure you don’t run out of one…especially if you’re planning on doing the wax seal, it just seems like more of a hassle to make an extra 20% to account for the choice.  I think as a guest, if I wanted the olive oil and couldn’t get it, I wouldn’t be as excited by the limoncello – whereas if that was the sole favor, I would love it!

Oh, also I googled for wax seals on bottles and it looks like there is a special kind.  Check out this page if you’re set on the idea (it has a video, too): http://www.stormthecastle.com/mead/waxing-mead-bottles.htm

I agree w/ ejs that tulle or ribbon would also look lovely.
