We are having a destination wedding in Northern Ireland, and my Fiance is Belgian. I am debating between 2 favors, sheep key chains, casue its in Northern Ireland and there are sheep grazing neer our venue, or personalized chocolates since Fiance is belgian. What would you rather have or is more meaningful, since 1/2 the guests are Belgian and prob won’t be impressed to get Belgian chocolate as a favor. I know a lot of people here are anti-favor, but I think its fun.

I like favours but love them if there’s chocolate invovled – so you can guess which one I voted for. Also, I relate sheep more to Wales

Ordinarily I’m not a fan of non-edible trinkety favors, but that sheep is SO adorable that in this instance I’d rather have that.
ETA that the chocolate would probably be more of a crowd pleaser.

Chocolate for sure. I don’t use keychains, so while the sheep is cute, it would end up getting thrown out most likely.

Love the sheep…but not as a favor. Chocolate all the way!

The sheep is super cute but I’d stick with food. We were going to give out bamboo shoots to our guests but are going to a candy buffet now instead.

I voted sheep. But I think that is because when I went to northern Ireland, I noticed that there are a lot of sheep there! I think that the sheep would be a cute thing to take away from the wedding. Althought like previous people I am not a huge fan of trinkets.

@eloping: That’s an idea!

I think I just accidentally voted for the sheep! He’s really cute, but giving them to everyone at your wedding would probably be pretty wasteful. Almost everyone will toss it after enough time as passed that they won’t feel guilty. No one will toss your chocolates. Even if they don’t eat them, someone nearby will be happy to take them.

I really like the idea of a sheep keychain, but would maybe consider something a little less bulky, I thought this was cute

off topic, but since reading that your fi is belgian and about belgian chocolate i now have a serious craving for a real belgian waffle…i need to go back to brussels!

@jimbert321: I’ve seen a lot of the souvenirs in Dublin and I liked that one becasue it was super cute, but yeah I guess it is a bit bulky for a key chain. I don’t really like the black sheep products mainly cause I don’t think I’ve even seen a black sheep in Ireland or northern Ireland!
