We’re looking at buying honeymoon tickets and southwest is $1800 for the flight! That’s my preferred airline but idk if it’s worth the extra cash. United is only $1000 but we’ve been burned by them before so Im hesitant to choose them. What are your favorite travel arrangements? We’re going to Cabo in Mexico, btw!

Delta…but I’m sure they would be more expensive than that. I’m surprised Southwest is that high. And I’ve heard nothing but horror stories from United.

I’ve flown Alaska to Cabo a few times. No issues with them.

Delta is my favorite. They’re far less likely to cancel flights than American or United, and I’ve had the best personal track record with timeliness and customer service with them. I fly 2-3 trips per month, and I always take Delta when I can. They newly renovated many of their planes recently as well and it really shows (ex. power ports at every seat, entertainment stations, baggage compartments that are taller to actually fit suitcases, etc.).

themoonofhislife: FI and I LOOOVVVEEEE Virgin America. They have TVs on all of the seats, with multiple channels. Also, rather than calling over a flight attendant to get some food or a drink, you can just order it from the TV and swipe your card on the TV as well to pay for it. Another really neat thing, is that you can use those TVs to send drinks or food to other people on the plane. So let’s say (you know, back in our single days) you see a cute guy/girl in seat 8C, and you want to break the ice.. you can use that TV to have a flight attendant bring them a drink. Oh, and they fly to Cabo 🙂

Some tips for getting a cheaper flight – try leaving from another airport. There is a smaller one by us about an hour away and some places are so much cheaper. If you’re at a hub and they don’t fly to where you’re going it can sometimes get crazy expensive!! Good luck!

Southwest is awesome! Too bad it’s so expensive for that flight. What is the price difference between Southwest and the other airlines? I had a positive yet reasonably priced experience with Jet Blue several years ago. The other big name airlines like United, AA, etc. are ok, but I think they are starting to offer more amenities.
Frontier was cheap but not a pleasant experience, and I’ve not heard good things about Allegiant.

We have always flown Sun Country.

Alaska. they once called us up to the desk and offered to put us on an earlier flight if we wanted.
they also have new seat designs that are a million times better than any other airline I’ve tried. the way they’re designed, you wind up with more leg room and it’s impossible for the person behind you to poke you in the back when they’re rifling through their magazine pocket. and they have Tom Douglas food to order that’s better than any other airline food I’ve ever tried, and beer/wine/spirits from locally owned (seattle) companies.
I also love air canada, but they can be spendy.

Southwest is my favorite for short flights. For anything longer than 2 hours, I do American!

Delta/Virgin… that is all. Well, I used to do that mostly because I lived in ATL and Delta pretty much owns most of the airport, lol. Aside from that, I love flying Virgin overseas and long haul flights because their planes are so dang comfortable! On top of that, my fiancè and I are technophiles and the Virgin planes allow for us to charge our myriad of electronics right at our seats.
ETA: Oh, also forgot about the biscoff cookies. They are awesome!

We generally only fly Southwest, but that’s because they give a bunch of benefits to military fliers.

Southwest is my favorite too. However, with them, you can’t buy too far ahead. Their prices are cheapest about a month to a month and a half before travel.

Delta! This might sound minor but the Delta app is amazing. I fly on average once a week and its the small thing that makes a big difference. Comparatively, united’s app is awful. BUT for a honeymoon trip..not a big deal.
TheBlackCrain: lol i’ve spent many layovers in your city 🙂
ETA : forgot to mention, Delta has been upgrading all their aircraft…touchscreen TVs on nearly every flight with charging stations in each seat. (i’m waaaaay too excited about this)
