OK Bees, inspire me!! I want to do some pictures with my Fiance, because we have so few. Maybe an engagement pic shoot (DIY with my fancy camera and a friend with talent) and am looking for good ‘poses’! We’re not little people (I’m about a size 16) so something flattering would be lovely but I’d love to see them all! If you’re a private person and don’t want to share or want to cover your faces I completely understand 🙂

If you’re self-conscious I’d try to get a lot of close-up face shots. I have a black & white one in my bio that comes to mind.
If you get some full length shots in as well, try turning at just a little bit of an angle so you aren’t square with the camera (this tends to be a little bit more forgiving). Let me look through some of my facebook pics when I get time at work and if anything jumps out at me I’ll come back & post it.
Also- have FUN! This is your best friend, so go hang out and enjoy each other’s company and don’t be too hung up on poses. You should look like you’re in love, not like you’ve been strategically placed. Enjoy yourselves 🙂

Ms. Celisse – you are GORGEOUS. Seriously.
I am also a size 16 and I was super, super stressed about taking engagement photos. While there were a few shots where I thought, “oh wow, I look a mile wide!” there were plenty where I felt great. I think the key for me was realizing how many I did like – which means I’ll like some of my wedding pictures and I just need to relax!! If you can take some pics with your photographer now, it may really help you to relax on the wedding day and know she/he will capture your best angles.

Wow, such beautiful pictures (and ladies), thank you!! Our wedding is over a year away, so we haven’t even booked a photographer yet (I know people through FB or friends that do AMAZING things, so I’ll probably meet with some of them and see if they’re interested). I think mainly I just want GOOD pictures of the two of us, so I can have them and hang them in our home. We’re not ‘fancy’ people, so I feel silly using the words ‘engagement photo’…but oh well. Thanks again, keep them coming!!

Try and have them take photos from the top. It makes you look so much more slimming!
Also poses where you are lieing down or hiding slightly behind your SO work great!
Lastly, try to cover your trouble problems with either your arm or a prop. My weight falls in my stomach so I covered it as much as I could but in a way that wasn’t too noticeable!
Hope that helped:) <3

Make each other laugh and smile. Relax and enjoy each other’s company. The photographer should catch the moments you guys share with each other at your most natural interactions. =)
I am a lot shorter than Fiance, so when we stood side by side, I made sure to stand on raised ground! I also wore a skirt paired with a wider belt because I was told it helps to shape my hourglass figure.
Don’t kiss… ALMOST kiss. When doing that, reach for his face or have him reach for yours. Close your eyes!
Turn your body 45 degrees to the camera so it can capture you at your thinnest.
Once in a while, glance at the camera…
Tell Fiance to look like he is whispering something in your ear. Once in a while, look at the camera when that happens. =)
Hope this helps!!

@DaneLady: Great tips! Angling the body is a great way to shed pounds in front of the camera. I found a step by step “how to” article on About.com on how to pose for photos. http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/qt/photopose.htm
@mrsbruff2b: I love your tip of ALMOST kissing. This truly makes for wonderful, romantic photos.
LOVE everyone’s photos.
