@meginstl: I love Helena, it’s so pretty, and how special for you to combine the two names of your grandmothers!

@Mrs.LilyLunaLove: Thanks! I love it as is but also like that it has so many nickname options, Ele, Ela, Lena, Helen, Elen, Elena. Also, my great grandma Helen went by Grandma Hug so I think that hug used in some way would be an adorable pet name for a future daughter too.

Where do you guys find some of these names???  I’ve never heard of a LOT of them.  I’d hate to be a teacher these days.

Girls:  Lauren, Elizabeth (although this is my daughter’s middle name), Catherine (Cate/Kate whatever, it doesn’t matter)

Boys:  Charles (Charlie), William (Will), or Lucas/Luke

I understand the irrational fear someone posted about nicknames.  My daughter’s name is Kamryn and I was terrified kids would try and call her Kammie or Cammie or Cammy or whatever.  You get my point.  Luckily at 10 no one has done that.  We do call her Kam a lot.

For some reason I’m always much more drawn to girls names, or unisex names- both myself and my man have unisex names, and often have to clarify who’s who after an introduction… imagine having two kids with unisex names too.. woah! A bit too much i think!

Girls:

Lyla

Maisey

Harper

Cameron

Luca

Boys:

Tex

Harlan

Brax

Fraser

Wow, so many interesting names – I love baby name posts!  I love unique names but am more of a traditional girl when it comes to names for my own cihldren.

Darling Husband and I have pretty much decided on two boys names and two girls names for our upcoming baby, but as we have 7 months to go, it could definitely change a few times!

Girls:

Emily Jean (not to be used as one name – Jean would be a middle name and a middle name only)

Olivia Rose

Boys:

Matthew James

Cameron Alfred

All of those names have a family element to them – either with the middle or first name.  I just wish Emily and Olivia weren’t so darn popular…

@irin997:  What’s wrong with Kammy?  ๐Ÿ™‚  It’s a nickname I got in the Army, and I liked it.
