Absolutely!  I just posted this elsewhere – I LOVE this dress, but I hate mermaid/drop waist on me:

I’m with @LittleRiver:

I absolutely LOVED Maggie Sottero’s Victoriana…however we decided to get married at a ranch, so I don’t quite think this dress would fit our venue :-/

A close second is a dress that I love in photographs, but when I tried it on, I wasn’t crazy about it.

One…the dress is a strapless and to have it altered to a lovely sweetheart neck, like above and like I would want, I’ve heard is a production.  From what I was told, DB will not alter it, so you have to go to an outside seamstress so that kind of seems like a headache.  Two…The dress was pretty heavy.  I’m little and I kind of felt like it swallowed me up.  Three…I really did not like how the material of the dress felt.  It felt kind of rough to me and I knew if I got it, it would be bothering me during the entire wedding.

That being said, WOW does it photograph beautifully!  I still love that dress, but alas, it wasn’t the one for me.

I fell in love with this dress when I saw it in a magazine. It was the first dress I tried and, wow, it was sooo not my dress!

This was my second choice, the skirt was just a little too big for me, it’s all I could see when I looked down, but I LOVED the top.

My dream dress.  Unfortunately, any ballgowns I’ve tried on made me look like I was being swallowed up by the gown. =(

Casablanca by Enzoani Blue. It looked great on me and I have a bit of remorse for not choosing it BUT the first time I put it on I loved it, the second time…not so much. So I decided against it. I also couldn’t decide if I was a “lace” girl or not. Oh well.

@[email protected]:  I wanted to try on this dress for ages but didn’t and like you couldn’t decided if I was a lace girl or not – it looked plain on me. If it didn’t wow you the second time – you made the right choice.

@prewitt, exactly. this is what i keep reminding myself. the second time i was REALLY unsure. I decided to go with an alvina valenta which i felt was much more “me” but also still romantic. Hope i made the right choice!!
