I just found a recipe in Woman’s Day for Salted Caramel Pecan and Chocolate Pie. The crust is a graham cracker and shredded coconut crust…yum! I can’t wait to try this recipe. I have a feeling I will be making several of these bad boys this holiday season. It does call for heavy cream, but I thought I would still share because it sounds so damn good.

futuremrss17 : My grandma made the best sweet potato pies so that’s my family’s go-to dessert. Hers never had any dairy in it aside from butter but you could use a substitute. Also, maybe you could make a spooky jello mold of sorts?
I would also check with your guests if dairy bothers them once it’s baked in. I’m very lactose intolerant but it bakes out and doesn’t bother me in desserts. But I couldn’t eat a cream cheese danish or anything. Just a thought!

pawneegoddess : I may have to try this pecan pie recipe. I have a REALLY good pecan pie recipe that I make for Thanksgiving every year, but it’s a deep dish pie (in a springform) and requires about 4 hours of time to make and bake it, plus another 3 to cool to where you can serve, and all of the ingredients cost well over $25… so I only make that one about once a year. But it is SO good – it has a sweet cream cheese crust and serves a lot more people than a regular pie.
But this one looks really good and a lot easier to make than the deep dish one. Plus, you can normally bet that anything from the Pioneer Woman is going to be good!
kawood0618 : This looks delicious as well! I love baking pies and always love trying new ones. Plus I looove anything salted caramel!
ladyvictoria : I will have to ask her if she is ok with things once they are baked. She did say that her lactose intolerance isn’t horrible, but obviously I don’t want to risk baking anything that might make her stomach upset. Thanks for the tip!

I love this recipe. It looks so cute and I just used puff pastry for it.

annili : Love these! I always make a few of these with my leftover filling and pie crust when I make apple pies! I always buy too many apples so it’s a perfect way to no waste anything 🙂
