We are going ziplining on our honeymoon. We might also do a massage… but I also want to do snorkeling and a “jeep” type tour. I don’t think we have the money to do all of those. I’m wondering what everyone’s favorite activities are and why (mainly for beach/tropical areas).

I would stick with activities that you can’t do in your local area. I’m sure a massage on the beach would be nice, but you could always do a couples massage in your local area.

I think it depends where you are going – if it’s somewhere known for snorkeling, then snorkel! Sometimes renting snorkel equipment can cost next to nothing if you rent right on the beach and can swim to the snorkel areas. If you are going somewhere that has a really great rainforest with lots to see, then maybe a jeep tour is the way to go. We are definitely getting massages, as I KNOW we will need to relax after all the stress of wedding planning…

All of the above sounds fun but like @kate02121: said — I’d pick something that the area you’re going to is known for and make sure you do that. Maybe you can get good deals on stuff if you check things out online far enough in advance? Then you could do everything!
I know that if we go somewhere where we can swim with dolphins I have to do it. I’ve wanted to do that my entire life. My fiance already has before but we’ll probably do that together!

@Monkey786: Do you have any credit cards rewards points that can be used for excursions?

Agree with PP that you should do something that the area you’re going is known for. For example, I love snorkeling, but when we recently went to Costa Rica, we learned the Pacific side is not good for snorkeling. So we did ziplining, horseback riding, and surf lessons.

We are going to Bodrum in Turkey.
And we plan on getting diving licens, ( we have never dived but we really want to start )
jetski – I love jetski , only went once but I loved it !
and then there are some cruses there wich I think we might check out
I heard there is some safari, but it dosent intrested me that much .. but I will have to look more into it
and then there is a Aqua world relly close, and I think we will let our inner child lose and go there hehe 🙂

Seriously, save money on the snorkeling and pack a mask and pipe in your bag (doesn’t take up much room) or buy a $10 set at walmart when you get to the destination. Research the best locations to snorkel before you get there. Doesn’t have to cost much!

Favorite activity we did on our honeymoon was swimming with sharks and sting rays! I agree with PPs, do something you can’t normally do in your area.

If you’re going on a beach vacation, I would definitely recommend parasailing and scuba diving. Some of my favorite trips ever have involved these activities, and I’ll remember them forever. I also absolutely loved swimming with dolphins, but check up on any business offering this: I swam with dolphins that were retired from movie careers and were allowed to live in the Ocean, just dependent (as opposed to dolphins captured from the wild for entertainment and kept in small pools).
My fiance’s not much of a beach guy, but I wanted warm weather, so we’re headed to New Orleans. We’re planning on doing a ghost tour of New Orleans’ haunted places, a jazz steamboat cruise on the river, a swamp tour to see alligators, and taking in a lot of the local culture.
