Where did you shop?
I’m finding that unless I go to a store like Motherhood Maternity, it is hard to find clothes in the store. Target has a TINY section. Old Navy doesn’t have a section in many stores…so you have to shop online. Kohl’s looks like they may have some good things.
Where did you buy your clothes?

I bought almost all of my stuff from Motherhood. However, that might have been because it was easier.

I went to specialty stores like Pickles & Ice Cream. They always had great selection and provided some great customer service. I tried Motherhood once and because not one person asked if they could help me I was turned off of the store and never went back. I’m pretty needy when it comes to shopping though.

i got a bunch of stuff from macy’s (motherhood brand) but i also got a lot of emoire-waisted/flowy dresses and tunic tops from ross. i love ross in general, but it’s great if you’re worried about spending too much on maternity clothes that you won’t be able to wear after the baby comes cause it’s so cheap. alot of the current styles are kinda bump-friendly anyway, so ross is great for cute trendy finds 🙂 i just got some maternity jeans and leggings from gap and they’re great but the jeans fit kinda roomy in the back.
i hear h&m also has a maternity line, but i haven’t checked it out yet.

I actually got some stuff at Forever21…totally crazy but I just bought a size or two up in flowy empire waist stuff. 🙂 I actually even found jeans with an elastic waist there. I’ve bought some maternity stuff but mostly I’m trying to look at regular clothes creatively.

Motherhood Maternity/Destination Maternity/A Pea in the Pod
I bought a few cute tops, work pants and jeans and have been very happy with them. I also got a couple nursing bras there (didn’t get fitted for those until alittle over a week ago, 4 weeks before my due date).

I haven’t been able to find much anywhere other than Motherhood Maternity. I love their stuff but it gets super pricey. I’ve seen some cute things at Kohl’s but the maternity section is pretty small & everything is mixed up and stuck together on a couple of racks. You seriously have to dig and pray that you find your size. I went to Macy’s over the weekend and they have a pretty large section. Everything was Motherhood Maternity brand but the prices were the same.

There is a Motherhood outlet in my town so I have gotten a lot of things there. I have also ordered a bunch of stuff from old navy and gap online and purchased a few things in the Old Navy store. Most of the old navy stores in my area have tiny maternity sections and the gap store had has a tiny one too, but there is nothing good there. Our Macy’s just put in a maternity section but it is basically all Motherhood brands that they have in the Motherhood store.
@Pelikia I am surprised to hear you had bad customer service at Motherhood. All the ones I have been to around here I feel are almost TOO helpful!

F21 is suppose to have a Maternity line now!
I agree with the empire waist/tunic tops as well. Even though I’m not pregnant yet I can see a lot of my tops and dresses working for maternity. Here’s hoping I’m at the peak of my pregnancy during summer months.
As a general question how’s the sizing at Motherhood Maternity?

Kohl’s was GREAT! I was so surprised when I was pregnant to find that that was my favorite store for maternity clothes. Pea in the Pod is adorable but SO expensive and it’s just such a waste of money. I found that even though Kohl’s had a rather small selection, EVERYTHING in their maternity section was great. I lived in their pants and shorts and they had very cute tops that didn’t look like massive circus tents. Totally recommend Kohl’s!

We have a consignment store for maternity that is awesome. They only accept good quality clothes and brands, so I have all sorts of cloths from Gap, Old Navy, Motherhood, etc. for cheap. I just went to Macys and they had a good selection, and JC Penny had a lot on sale but not a lot there.
I’ve been thinking about Kohl’s, I’ll have to go check it out!

Old Navy and Kohls. Target has some too but I wasn’t too fond of it.

I like Old Navy. I’m plus size and they have the cutest stuff in my size, others stores have some ugly mess in my size.LOL I have a few pairs of pants from Motherhood, but they are too expensive for me.

The only in-store shopping I did was at Macy’s & Pea in the Pod. Most of my shopping was done online…Destination Maternity, GAP, Ann Taylor LOFT, & Old Navy. The Target shirts were a little thin for my taste and the pants an odd fit for me, but I did luck out with one of their wool coats and the quality/fit of some of their swim suits I bought online. Seems to me like there’s a real market that isn’t being filled for affordable maternity clothes that don’t break the bank, but aren’t cheap and frumpy looking. There are a lot of maternity boutiques around me, but as cute as their clothes are no way am I going to spend that kind of money on clothes I’m only going to wear for a few months…would rather spend it on baby stuff 🙂
