Pete’s downtown and 25 Degrees are my favorites.  I also love BOA, Casa Vega, Katsuya, Mastro’s and Angelique.

There are so many awesome restaurants in LA.  We like a little bit of everything, though we’ve been sticking to less expensive places lately – Paco’s Tacos, Outdoor Grill, Tender Greens, Philippe’s, Abbot’s Pizza, California Chicken Cafe.  I’m hungry!

For cheap eats, definitely Tito’s Tacos in West LA!

For something more fancy, I love anything on Restaurant Row on La Cienega in Beverly Hills (Stinking Rose, Matsuhisa, Mastro’s, Fogo de Chao)… had the best sushi at Koi!

In SGV:  All the hole in the wall Asian places!  There are too many to name (and most of them have names like ABC, NBC, CBS, NYC… can’t keep it all straight in my head, lol)!

@ms.pascua: I also LOVE King’s Hawaiian!!  YUMMMMMM

I’m so glad we live here… I’m drooling just thinking about these restaurants (and it’s 11:20 pm, HAHAHA)!

Il Cielo in Beverly Hills is super romantic for Italian food!

I love Guidos too!

@butterywaffles: I recently attended a wedding at Il Cielo. The food was mediocre but the servers and the decor was AMAZING. I would give it 5 stars just for that. I love the garlic prime rib at the Stinking Rose (Beverly Hills, Restaurant Row), El Taurino’s carne asada tacos (kind of in a shady part of LA but soooooo good), Fresh seafood at Redondo beach…oh goodness I have hundreds of favorites. LA is the best. FH and I have a list of "places we want to eat" and we’ve been slowly checking them off our list since 2005. Hm…maybe that explains why we both "suddenly" gained 30 pounds.

@ marigold – thanks for the suggestions, i’ll have to check them out one day. and yes, i agree that Akbar in pasadena isn’t as good as people say it is. it’s not bad, but it’s not great either.

@ddubzz – haha all the hole in the wall asian places, love them. Golden Deli on Main/Mission has the best pho and eggrolls in all of SGV. anything better and you have to head down to OC.

mmm, all this talk is getting me hungry.

We live in downtown LA so we are always trying new places around the area. We go to Wurstkuche at least once a month to satisfy our Midwestern "sausage and beer" cravings. Daikokua or Orochan ramen in Little Toyko. For Chinese always Yang Chow! In Silverlake/Los Feliz The Fix Burgers, Garage Pizza, Yucca’s Tacos. (I swear we eat healthy at home, but my man is a Chicagoan through and through!)

I love Terried Sake in West Los Angeles – they specialize in small plates of Japanese food, which is perfect for someone with a small attention span like me!  =)  Also a big fan of the ramen at Daikokuya.  Oh, and if you’re near Santa Monica, I really like Cha Cha Chicken, which has delicious jerk chicken enchiladas.  Plus, they let you bring alcohol and don’t charge a corkage, so my guy and I usually bring a bottle of wine (and a corkscrew) to go with our meal.

Bosa Nova in hollywood.  the traditional chicken is amazing, as are the pizzas and yummy brazilian servers.  salads are great too.
