chiming in a little late but lovin this thread! Echoing past posters, Mozza, Father’s Office, Tender Greens are awesome and have never disappointed! I’ve also enjoyed lovely meals at AOC (bacon wrapped dates!), R+D Kitchen, and the best splurge meal i’ve ever had was the tasting meny at Providence! Santouka in Mitsuwa has the most delish ramen but I’ll definitely have to try the other ramen places listed above! Empress Pavillion in dtown for yummy dim sum! Mario’s Peruvian food is one of my all time faves! Anyone know of any amazing thai places?

@peonypink For thai, I really like Ord Noodle! Their crispy pork and basil over rice is delicious, and I love their duck noodle soup!
Other faves- Daikokuya and Bottega Louie in DTLA, Elite & Mission 261 (dim sum), Banh Mi Che Cali (for vietnamese sandwiches and spring rolls), JTYH Restaurant (for knife shaved beef noodle soup) and JJ Restaurant (for soupy crab dumplings, and Newport (for lobster) in SGV, Portos in Burbank/Glendale, Bay Cities Italian Deli, Hurry Curry (their chicken pasta dish is the best!) in West LA, Kings Hawaiian, Il Chianti, and Quality Seafood in the south bay. Don’t even get me started on ktown…

For special, but pricey meal, Ortolan wins hands-down, although Providence is a close second. Just had Comme Ca last weekend and it was also very good.
My favorite burger is at 8 Oz. but Umami Burger on La Brea is pretty tasty.
Favorite Mexican is Paco’s Tacos, but Tito’s is pretty great for fast and simple.
Katsuya (the original in the valley) is great, great sushi – so very delicious.
A.O.C. is great for wine and small plates. Great vibe.
We don’t eat out as much anymore (saving money for the wedding), but I do love to go out for a nice meal – food is divine!

Gosh, do I love this post! Daikokuya, yes! Mozza, yes! There’s a really great sushi place in Hollywood called Sushi Ike – it’s tiny and it’s in a strip mall next to a Pizza Hut, but I swear it’s great sushi. And the best Indian food I’ve had in LA is Gill’s in downtown LA. Yes, it’s at the back of a random hotel, but it’s sooooo good.
