i was surprised how much i liked so many different silhouettes on me.  i was expecting a simple a-line but i tried on nearly every shape and was pleasantly surprised.

i actually liked the ballgown.  it was stunning but a bit too formal.  i chose the trumpet.

The natural waist ballgown turned out to be ridiculously flattering on me. I’m usually not for poofy, but my ballgown is actually no more poofy than most a-lines. Prior to finding my dress I had been focusing on sheaths and dresses more in the trumpet shape. Fit and flare is actually the least flattering on me because I have a long torso and it make my legs look disporportionately short.

IF I had the body for it, a simple sheath would be my dream dress. But I don’t have the body for a sheath… or a mermaid, fit&flare, or trumpet. The only options that suited me were ballgowns and a-lines, and I ultimately chose an a-line. It’s all about getting the dress style that works best for the body type.

I like smaller ballgowns/bigger a-lines, so a bit inbetween. But mostly ballgowns *dreamy eyes*

I am one of a very small minority who hates fit and flare, trumpet, mermaid and anything the like.

I love trumpet dresses, but they do not flatter me. I ended up with a ballgown, which I love too. The only style I don’t love is mermaid, but I’ve seen them look AMAZING on many women.

I really dislike anything that’s not a ballgown or an A-line.

@novacaineandlaughter:  That’s kinda how I feel, I am not a big fan of fit and flare, mermaid, etc

    LOVE ballgown and a-line!

I’m the opposite of PP. I hate hate HATE A-lines. It was definitely my last choice. It’s just too plain for my taste. Ballgown took second to last, with sheaths not far behind. Trumpets and mermaids have a nice balance of fitted and body, so it’s very bridal without being overwhelming.

Of course, I’m 5’0” so this may explain why I dislike ballgowns and a-lines so much.

Mine’s a fit and flare, and that’s usually the dresses I like best when I see other pictures.
