I use neons since they’re popular for summer. Just like my fingernails, I always leave the big toe on each side a different color and usually put a glitter polish on it. I love Sinful Colors and Xtreme Wear by Sally Hansen. I use Kissy which is a glittery mix of blue and teal, Bikini which is a HOT pink, Daredevila pearlized HOT pink, Cinderella which is a sky blue and Island Coral which is a coral pink πŸ™‚ They also have a glitter collection I love and I bought every one of them to mix and match with colors. Yeah I’m obsessed!

I have a major addiction to nail polish! I change my color(s) out once a week. Bright, vibrant color is such an integral part of my personality that I’d never think to change, even if someone told me that I was too old! I figure that if something as simple and unobtrusive as nail color makes me so happy, there’s not a thing wrong with it.

I’m a huge fan of the Sinful Colors brand. They’re inexpensive but very good quality. I have found them at Target but my usual location is any Walgreens pharmacy. I love colors that pop, that contrast yet somehow work together (about 75% of the time I do two colors — one on my left hand and right foot, the other on my right hand and left foot).

Some examples:

I pair these two:

I also do black and white, various shades of pink, sometimes some pale sparkly things, pink and yellow (a great summer combo as it reminds me of raspberry lemonade). I love the neons.

(the first and last are the two from above — Dream On and Irish Green. Sandwiched between are Pink, Summer Peach and Neon Melon, which I am currently wearing as is but am going to take off today, mix with some white to tone it down and do a light yellow / light pink)

I also love classics, like a good red.

I think that color is a fantastic way of expressing your mood, making you feel sexy (red toes paired with some sexy peep toe pumps — my favorite) and telling the world a fair amount about your personality. Even if your job leans toward a more subdued wardrobe, a splash of color on your nails can make you feel great.

Just this past week, I went black and white on my nails for (what turned out to be) the final game of the Phoenix Coyotes / LA Kings hockey conference finals. White for my Coyotes, black for support of the Kings when they would inevitably win because they played an amazing series.

(I somehow managed to miss a nail, which is why I tok this picture)

Even my profile picture here is one of me showing off my deep, non-neon purple (and my ring!)!

As one for contrasts, I have every intention of sneaking some electric green and pink into my wedding. The dress will be a simple white tea-length but the shoes will be stunning (and shocking!) neon green (possibly peep toe) pumps with pink nails and my fingernails will be the Irish Green color above, possibly paired with a bright pink shrug or thin “jacket”.

So I say keep on rocking any color you want! There’s something powerful about nail polish that men just don’t get!

(Sorry for all of the photos! I just wanted to show what I mean!)

@ellisrobertson:  it just shows we have great taste! Another brand I like that you can find at Walmart is Pure Ice. They have some awesome colors too that are great for summer and look like candy! I did a french mani but only did my ring finger on my left hand in a tie dye collage of colors (hot pink, glittery sky blue and coral glitter!) yeah I’m rockin’ rollin’ lol.

Now I wanna go to Walgreens and find a new color lmaos. Oh and I bought 4 shoe box totes ($1 at walmart) with lids and put my nail polish in there and organized it by color. I created seperators with carboard and made pockets on the insde of the lid for my manicure kit (clippers, cuticle remover, nail file etc.)

Yes, I’m an OCD freak!

@mrs.t_finally:  Haha, nice! Yeah, I have a few Pure Ice colors. Just blues and pinks, I think. I keep mine in Chuckie T boxes! (Now there’s another thing I love in colors! In fact, for when the super tall heels start to kick my butt at the party after the ceremony, I’m going to have a pair of neon greens as back up!)

@ellisrobertson:  you know what I do when my heels start to hurt? I went to walmart and they have in the bedroom slipper aisle those silky ballerina slippers. I bought a pair of those, I think they’re like $5? and I took some sequins and sewed some on around the trim so I have my pizzazz slippers and God, are they awesome on sore feet! I actually wore them at the end of the day when we were at MGM/Hollywood studios lol.

My husband HATES my side of the closet because everything is color coordinated, even my shoes. And man- do I have SHOES lol. What size do you wear? I have an awesome pair of sexy pin up shoes in a shiny patent leather black with cork stilleto heels. I actually bought 2 pairs in 2 different sizes (they were on sale) and the ones that fit I kept but I have a spare πŸ™‚

I am currently in love with a bunch of Essie’s colors, and am building my collections! I am usually a red, pink, orangey sort of girl… but here are a few of my faves:

Essie – Meet me at sunset

 Essie – Turquioise & Caicos

Essie – Ballet Slippers for something girly and more neutral

@mrs.t_finally:  The sequined slippers sound awesome. πŸ™‚ I’m definitely a Converse girl, though, so those will be my backups.

As far as size, in Chucks I wear a men’s seven. In heels, it tends to depend on the height. I have an amazing pair of four-inch wedges that are an 8.5 because the angle sends my foot lower into the toe. In a flat, it’s typically a 9. Then, atypically, I have a pair of three-inch red heels that are an eight. It depends entirely on the cut of the shoe. A closed toe will send me to a larger size where a peep toe brings me down about a half, sometimes a full.

These heels are tall. I wish they weren’t because I really don’t need to be six feet tall for my wedding. I keep looking around, hoping I’ll find something I love just as much without any sort of height in the front, but so far nothing strikes me as much as this pair.

Ah, decisions, decisions. πŸ˜‰

In honor of summer vacay, today being the last day of school for my 14 yr old and her leaving on Sunday for gramma’s (hurray margarita’s) I painted mine Bikini by Sinful Colors with Halucinate on my big toes (a clear glitter nail polish) and my ring fingers πŸ™‚

I pretty much always have some shade of hot pink on my toes. So summer-y!
