pixiecat:  Hahaha! +1,000,000!

Mmmm… Stuffing.

TheGridMonster:  Yep! If it’s good, it’s sooooooo good. Bad stuffing = not worth the calories or the effort!

I also like green bean casserole and my (mom’s recipe) apple pie (nom nom nom).

MrsHalpert:  LOL!  you have not lived until you’ve chased a medallion of canned cranberry sauce around on a plate, hopelessly trying to pick it up with a fork. . I’ve got it. .  almost. .. nope. . as it sadly breaks into two pieces and falls back on the plate.

good times!!

MrsHalpert:  I’m with GroovyHippieChick: on the can shaped cranberry sauce. I’ll tolerate other kinds, but I love the canned!

GroovyHippieChick:  codysgirl16:  omg y’all are too funny! i just love whole cranberries; plus it adds some excitement on black friday when i make a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce on it. although, logically, the canned would be easier for sandwich making…haha

codysgirl16:  And it has to be stuffing, not dressing.  i.e. cooked inside the bird.  None of this “omg, it doesn’t cook hot enough and is full of raw turkey bacteria!!”  I’ve eaten it my whole life, my parents have eaten it their whole lives, my grandparets… etc. etc.  No one has ever gotten food poisoning from stuffing.

pixiecat:  Haha -I was watching an episode of Good Eats the other day where Alton Brown went to great lengths to have the stuffing be the same temp as the bird! Totally doable, but wow, what a process – probe thermometers, muslin bags, microwaves, oh my!

I’m no health/disease professional, but it is interesting how our forebears made it through many a stuffed bird!

Mmmmmm, stuffing…

truetexanbee:  my mamaw makes homemade dressing (aka stuffing) and forms it into patties and pan fries it. it is the most delicious thing i have ever eaten in my life. besides her deviled egg potato salad. good lord that’s some magic as well 🙂

codysgirl16:  I love Alton Brown, but that’s excessive!  I wonder if the network makes him do that as a “cover your ass” measure.  We have always just packed the turkey full of stuffing and whenever the turkey is done, the stuffing is done.  My mom always makes tons because everyone loves it and actually has to make a separate casserole dish to cook it all.  But the one that wasn’t cooked in the turkey isn’t as good!

It’s so hard to choose! I would say stuffing and my Gram’s recipe for clover rolls. They are SO delicious and waiting to be stuffed with butter!
