rheedic :  a waterford crystal vase. Its small and the perfect shape. I love fresh flowers in my home and always find myself picking that vase to put a few roses from the garden in.

I’m Italian so favors are a cultural given at most of the weddings I go to. If it’s not a cultural expectation to do a grander favor then you should go for something edible like cookies or chocolates. Everyone seems to enjoy those.

rheedic :  The donuts sound perfect!

Oh and another November wedding! Is your wedding outside? We did the blankets and they were perfect, but if weather had been sweltering (which it can be), I probably would have only had a handful out and returned the bulk of them.

We kind of went overboard with the favors – I tend to be a big gift giver. The donuts honestly sound perfect. Blankets are great if you want to do something else though (FWIW, I researched pashminas first, which are pretty and slightly more cost effective but only satisfied female guests. Blanket scarves were also considered – beautiful soft wool plaid ones – but they were at least double the cost of the ikea blankets, which wasn’t feasible for our budget. But still throwing it out there because I don’t know your budget / guest list size).

Definitely vote for edible favours. We had tea towels with a small thank you message on it, and a candy bar and they were both a hit!

Edibles are aways good, especially booze or sweets.  After that, I’d say consumables.  I don’t need a koozie because they don’t wear out and I imagine I’ll have the ones I have for years.  But I will always eventually need another soap or lip balm or hand lotion.

A friends wedding had a horse race per.table (some doubled up), and each person got a $2 bet on a horse.  It was guaranteed that one person per table would win, and the races strarted shortly after the reception.  It was pretty random, but it was a great conversation starter at the tables

Fi and i didn’t win haha

DaniGirl03 :  Any idea where they may have found favors like that? My wedding has trees as a focal point so I would adore giving out tiny trees!!

readingintheshade :  I’m in Canada, they reached out to a local grower and bought directly from him.

Honestly I can’t remember most of the favors I was given.  And the weddings that had no favors don’t rank any worse for me than weddings that did.  I was most excited about a wedding that had local fudge sauce…but then at the end of the night I forgot it! 🙁
