Always eat breakfast and schedule in work out time so you can’t bail on it. When I don’t make the time to eat well or excercise I always feel like crap. Also: Mittens!! Montreal is a humid kind of cold, so if you don’t keep your fingers warm they get clammy and cold… I hate that!

There is nothing that zinc, orange juice, tons of water and a solid 8 hours sleep can’t cure in the winter time. When I get run down and can’t turn my brain off I have a cup of hot decaf tea right before bed time with warm milk no sugar, take a 3mg melatonin and turn the fan on. The circulating air and white noise helps me sleep better too.

Also, invest in a nice cushy bathrobe for after showers. It’s a little thing but it just makes me feel so good. Oh, and carry lots of energy boosting snacks like almonds, fruit leather, apples.

I *always* get the blahs when the cold weather and early darkness settle in!

– Hot bubble baths and a warm cushy robe

– Mulled cider (get a 1/2 gallon of organic apple cider, a packet of mulling spices, and some orange peel – put it in a sauce pan on low heat on your stove…it tastes amazing and smells up your entire apartment with warm yummyness).

– Lots of vitamin C

– a pedicure

– I like to go to the zoo and walk around in the tropical exhibits (something about that warm humid air!!)

-Vitamins. I’m taking pre-natals becasue I’m TTC soon but I’ve always taken vitamins. 
-Yoga.  I can be quite a competitive person so yoga is perfect for me because its about being aware of one’s body. 
-I go driving.  My parents started this ritual when I was a baby and its always worked. -Read a really good novel.  I tend to like mysteries and will get caught up. The reprieve gives me a break from any craziness.-A nice warm bubble bath, candles, and a glass of wine.-If I really need an energy boost, I will blast dance music and dance like a Wild Woman.-A walk around the neighborhood.  The world is truly a beautiful place and when we are stressed, we forget to appreciate.-Watching sports. -Hanging w/ my girls and family.   -Watching a really funny or bad movie so I can laugh my ARSE off.

Just a couple of things I do to maintain my sanity.

I try to do this detox bath once a week and really enjoy it.  Even if it doesn’t work, I get that time of peace and quiet to myself (and I personally believe it does help).

Also tons of water all the time.

Exercise (who doesn’t feel better after??)

And this is more of a beauty tip but I love #2 here.
